Outside of a handful of people, I think most of us wouldn't mind a little more excitement in life. It is really easy to slip into a rut. Maybe you work all week you can relax on the weekend before you do it all over again. Rinse and repeat until you retire. If you are ready to snap out of your rut and easily add a bit more excitement to your life, then keep reading these nine tips.
1. Make a List
Do you even know what excites you? Take some time to brainstorm a list of things that you would find exciting. It doesn't have to be mind-blowing levels of excitement either. Feel free to include simple, humble things that you enjoy as well.
2. Make More Room For Excitement
You might feel too busy for excitement, and you might be right. It's up to you to make more room for excitement in your life. One of the best ways to accomplish that is delegating or outsourcing mundane, time-consuming tasks that take up too much of your time.
3. Pick Up a New Hobby
Are there any hobbies or activities that you have always wanted to try? Maybe something held you back? You might be worried about what other people will think. Well, we are all too grown for that to matter. Pick up a hobby you've always been interested in.
4. Learn Something New
Any subjects of interest that you want to learn more about? Maybe it's related to your career, and maybe it's just a subject that fascinates you. Committing to lifelong learning is a wonderful way to ensure some excitement in life.
5. Don't Stop Making Friends
A lot of people reach a point in life where they aren't interested in making new friends. While I relate to that feeling, you shouldn't completely shut out other people. You never know who you will meet that will add some joy and excitement to your life.
6 . Shake Up Your Living Space
You don't need a spend a single dime on adding a little more excitement to your living space. Just spend some time and then move things around a bit. Moving furniture isn't the most exciting task, but reimagining what your new space could be - is.
7. Set Exciting Goals With Exciting Rewards
Don't fall for the trap of boring goals. No one gets excited about a boring goal. If you want to invite some more excitement into your life, include at least one or two goals that really motivate you. Better yet, think of an exciting reward you can give yourself for reaching them.
8. Honor Your Preferences and Personality
If you have been hiding any parts of yourself because you are worried about being judged or fear looking silly - get over it. Build that proverbial bridge, and get over being too concerned or scared to try new things you think you'd enjoy.
9. Make a Big Move
There is a fine line between fear and excitement. If you want to feel a little of both, then try moving somewhere totally new. You might find a whole new world on the other side of your city. If you have the means, you could even consider a bigger move out of State or even Country.
